I offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals covering a wide range of concerns including loss, issues of self-worth, anxiety and depression in their various forms, bereavement and loss, fertility issues, postnatal depression, PTSD, anger management, conflict at home, abuse, separation/divorce, bullying and parenting strategy work. My approach to psychotherapy is primarily humanistic and integrative. I view everyone as unique with endless potential and believe that under the appropriate conditions, everyone has the capability of becoming the best version of themselves. I began my professional life in education and later worked with vulnerable adults and youths in the social care sector for fifteen years. Subsequently I trained as a psychotherapist in the University of Limerick and hold a M.A in Integrative Psychotherapy. I am committed to continuing education and clinical research. I work within the ethical framework of the IAHIP and under The Children First Act (2015).

Things I Can Do

Geraldine uses a range of techniques and interventions from a variety of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution focused therapy, Gestalt therapy and other evidence based approaches which can be tailored to suit your own unique needs and circumstances. She provides the following services: Individual Psychotherapy and Counselling, Adolescent Psychotherapy (16 years and over), Psychotherapy for Couples. Qualifications: M.A in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Graduate Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, Masters in Addiction Studies, Higher Diploma in Psychoanalysis, Bachelor of Arts in Education. Geraldine has also engaged in the following Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events to date: Training Workshop In Fertility Counselling Skills, The Gottman Method Couples Therapy- Level 1 Clinical Training The Gottman Institute, Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training Programme, Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse Training Programme, Working with Domestic Violence Training Programme, Children’s First Training, Tusla Safeguarding - Designated Liaison Person (DLP) Training, Barnardos A.S.I.S.T Training, HSE. Accredited Triple P Parenting Program Practitioner, Accredited Roots of Empathy Instructor. Geraldine holds Garda clearance and works within the ethical framework of the IAHIP and under The Children First Act (2015).
